Return to Prayer Letters

Dear Praying Friends and Supporting Churches,
Gen 35:17 And it came to pass, when she was in hard labour, that the midwife said unto her, Fear not; thou shalt have this son also.
Praise the Lord, and thanks to every one of you that have prayed for a healthy baby boy! Tobias Baruch Smith was born healthy on the 9th of March 2009 at 2:50 pm, 9.1 oz and 21.25 inches long. I do want to apologize for the late prayer latter, however I did want to put the baby's birth in this letter for you all who have been praying and since Tobias was born, needless to say I have been busy with him and trying to take care of my wife Kacie as she recovers. So I guess the old saying is true “No news is good news,” for had anything gone bad I would have tried contacting you all immediately. Nevertheless I am very happy to know that my wife and Tobias are doing well! We chose the name Tobias for it means “the Lord is good” and truly the Lord Jesus Christ has been good to us in giving us a healthy baby boy though we are very undeserving! We gave him the middle name Baruch because of the meaning “blessed” and in that we thought with all of you praying for him before he even came, some I know prayed even before my wife Kacie got pregnant this time. Since you all knew the history of our son Levi many of you, even some literally around the world, were praying and I thought that he truly is blessed to have been born to a praying people supporting him and that from a child he will know the holy scriptures! So thus we named him Tobias Baruch Smith.
Deputation seems again to be taking a turn for departure, as the Lord leads and doors are opening. After talking to the German Embassy it seems as though visas will not be as hard to obtain as first thought (though time will tell) and the past meetings have been promising for support! We have contacted the language school and they have even offered help in finding a place to live including getting us connected with some real-estate agents, who have already sent us some papers and magazines on rental housing and apartments! Please continue to pray that we will be able to obtain that right location to live in light of the ministry of getting the gospel out to them as well as the school.
As we finish up deputation we are trying to sale our truck. Our camper has already been sold! Our truck is a Dodge Ram 3500 dually, 4 door, diesel. If any one of our supporting church members are interested please give me a call (850-777-7772) we ask that you pray for the sale of our truck for that is what we have planed to buy tickets with as well as help in the cost of shipping things once we do depart.
Another prayer request would be our son Tobias needs a passport and that involves his social security card, and birth certificate, and then the passport. So all of that takes time and can get caught up in the mail and take a while, so pray that all will go smoothly in that part of things!
Again thank you all for all you prayers and support. We hope that you will continue on your knees not just for us but for all missions and branches of your church and families remembering “The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” (James 5:16b) May God bless you all and show you great and mighty things which thou knowest not!
Mark, Kacie, Naomi, and Tobias Smith
