Statement of Faith
The Bible - We believe in the inspiration and preservation of the word of God. That is, it was inspired of God the moment it was spoken and then the spoken word was written down by holy men of God (1 Peter 1:20-21; 1 Timothy 3:16; Jeremiah 36:1-4); we believe the God who inspired His word also is powerful enough to keep His word (Psalms 12:6-7; Matthew 24:35); and the final authority in all matters of faith and practice for the English speaking people is the King James Authorized Version of 1611.
The Trinity - We believe in the one true triune God consisting of three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit (1 John 5:7; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14).
Hell - We believe in a literal burning hell, originally created for the devil and his angels. But since the fall of man and choosing sin and death, hell has become man's eternal place of torment as well, upon the rejection of Jesus Christ as their personal Savior (Matthew 25:41; Luke 16:23-24; Mark 9:43-48; Revelation 20:14-15).
Heaven - We believe that Heaven is a literal place located on the sides of the North. It is a pure and holy place that sin and death cannot enter. It is the dwelling place of God and His angels and every saved child of God upon death will be present with Him (Psalms 48:2; Psalms 5:4; Matthew 6:9; John 14:1-3; 2 Corinthians 5:8).
Salvation - We believe that salvation is grace through faith plus nothing. No works or merit of anyone could save themselves. It is by putting your full trust in the finished work of Christ. By the belief of one's heart that God hath raised him from the dead salvation is obtained (Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 10:9-13; Titus 3:5).
Eternal Security - We believe that God who is powerful enough to save to the utter most is also powerful enough to keep you, by his Holy Spirit. That no matter what things you do present or things to come can separate you from the love of God (Ephesians 4:30; 2 Corinthians 1:22; 1 Peter 1:5; Romans 8:38-39; John 5:24; John 6:37, 39).
Separation - We believe that as a child of God that you should be separate from this present, evil world and not be conformed to it. A Christian ought to live a sanctified life to Jesus Christ (Romans 12:1-2; 1 Peter 1:14; 1 John 2:15-17; Ephesians 5:10-16; 2 Corinthians 6:14-18).Baptism - We believe that baptism is important for every believer but not a part of salvation. It is the outward showing to the church and the world that you are a new creature in Christ Jesus and that the old man is dead, and it is the answer of a good conscience toward God by immersion after salvation (1 Peter 3:21; Matthew 3:16; Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 8:35-39).
The Church - We believe that the church consists of all saved believers in Christ and not a local building or denomination. The church is an organism and not an organization. Sometimes the Bible speaks of the church and the Body of Christ as referring to the same thing, saved believers (Ephesians 1"19-23; 5:23-32; 1 Corinthians 12:12-14; Colossians 1:24).
Independent Baptist - We believe in Baptist distinctives as well as being an Independent Baptist because of the teaching of the word of God. There is no convention or organized fellowship, Sunday school or any other matters of the local church. In the Bible so there for we believe in the leadership and guidance of the Holy Spirit concerning anything and everything that goes on in a local assembly of believers. And therefore believe in the distinctives of a Bible believing Baptist. Such as 1) complete separation of the church and state; 2) the priesthood of the believer; 3) the Lordship of Jesus Christ; 4) the importance of the independence and autonomy of the local church; 5) the ordinances given to the local church are baptism by immersion and the Lord's supper, not closed communion; 6) the pre-millennial return of Jesus Christ; 7) the salvation of souls by grace through faith alone; and 8) the King James 1611 Authorized Version is the final authority and infallible preserved word of God for the English speaking people for all matters of faith and practice.
Second Coming - We believe in the literal physical second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. This is the main theme of the Bible: "A King and His Kingdom." This is when the Lord will return from heaven to sit on His thrown in Jerusalem and be the King of Kings and Lord of Lords (Psalms 2:1-8; Zephaniah 3:8-20; Zechariah 14:16-21).
